Virginia Beach Fishing Report, Matador Huge Amberjack Fishing Action

08/03 - On tuesday we had Kevin Wagner and some of his buddies from Long Island aboard for a amberjack trip. The weather was gorgeous slick flat calm and hot and the fishing was great too. We stopped at a buoy on the way out and caught a pair of 50# cobias. This was a good way to start the day. Then we got to the tower. I don't know what the deal was with the jacks there, but I think this day they had been taking steroids. We caught a large number of BIG jacks including a huge 67" 86# monster amberjack. These guys caught fish until their arms were sore and we headed home. On the way home we saw a pair of cobias cruising on the surface and I hooked one up top on the jig but it ran off and broke us off.
