Amazing Cobia Fishing In Hatteras

05/16/10 - Today we put together a make up trip. We were supposed to go offshore but ended up having a delay that would keep us at the dock for a few moments. We could hear on the radio that the cobia fishing was going off so we switched gears and went that direction. The cobia fishing was happening bigtime. We ran approximately 20 miles south of Hatteras inlet and found the motherload off Portsmouth Island. There were cobias everywhere. Singles doubles triples groups of 5, 10, 20 , 50, 100. I have never seen cobia fishing like it before. we saw countless amounts of cobias. Everyone on board had never caught a cobia before so this would be a great day to teach them. We spent a lot of time throwing at fish and had quite a few bites and by the end of the trip, I think everyone aboard had caught a cobia. This was a great day of fishing.
