Virginia Beach Fishing Report, Bluefins are here

Bluefins are here
Bluefins are here

On Thursday we went fishing out of Rudee Inlet and had heard some bluefins had been in the area, so we decided to take the private boat I am running out of virginia Beach, Legacy, out on a test run. We set out a spread of baits just outside the inlet in 40 feet of water and within a two hours we had released a couple of nice rockfish and caught this 68 inch 158# bluefin tuna. These tunas are just passing through the area and I would not expect them to around all that long as they make their way towards the Outer Banks, where they will spend the winter and spring. My charter boat, Matador, is in Hatteras ready and waiting for the bluefins to arrive. We are now booking bluefin trips out of hatteras. We will be staying in hatteras until June 2012. Give us a call today at 757-749-6008 and get booked. Thanks, capt. Jake
