12/28/08 - On sunday, we had Jeff Howard and some of his employees aboard for a company striper trip. We started in dam neck in dense fog. No bites. Then I saw a huge flock of birds on the radar off the oceanfront so we ran up there. Birds were all over, nice looking beehives, plenty of bait marks. No fish marks. Got a call from a buddy that said to head south a couple miles. We got there and immediatly picked up a couple on the smaller side but broke the ice for us. We got a call about another better striper bite even further south and ran down to it and it was on. We started off with a double of twenty pound fish. Then some singles. Then we caught some citation bluefish. Then a nice 42 pound citation striper on the chartreuse mojo. Then a couple more topped off the limit for the ride home. We sent Jeff and company home with a nice mess of striper for their New Year's dinner table and a couple citations for their living room walls. |
