On Friday, there was fantastic fishing for yellowfin and blackfin tuna around the rocks. A couple boats went south into the 900s and had great mixed bag catches of mahi, yellowfins, and wahoos.
On Saturday, we left the inlet with Lennie Miles group into a brisk north wind. Though fishing wasn't as good as Friday we still had a great day starting south and working north with plenty of tuna and mahi bites on the troll. We also had a limit of amberjacks on the jig. The wind laid out in the afternoon and we had a nice ride home.
The fishing is really getting better in Hatteras every day now. The tuna fishing is very good right now. Each day the mahi fishing is getting better and I would expect the dolphin fishing to be in full swing by next week. Some wahoo and billfish are making a showing. The big news is that on the inshore front, cobia were caught out of hatteras yesterday! I am booking for cobia and offshore trips. Give me a call at 7577496008 and I will get you booked.
