Virginia Beach Fishing Report, Hatteras Mahi fishing on FIRE

Over the last week we have had several offshore trips out of Hatteras and the fishing has been fantastic. There has been a scattered marlin bite, and of course jigging and reef fishing has been good, but the big news is all the dolphin we caught. Every day we caught all the dolphin we wanted. Mostly bailers, but some gaffers in the mix too. The best of the action was gonna be on the change around 25 or so fathoms from the 900 to the 000's. We fished 5 straight days last week and every single day we were able to get our fill of dolphin.
This week we come back to Virginia beach to start our summer season. We will be fishing from Fishermans Wharf Marina in Rudee inlet for the summer and are looking forward to coming home. The fishing here is off to a very promising start and there has been good tuna fishing early for yellowfins, a great mahi bite to the south, and just the last several days, the marlin bite has been incredible.
