Virginia Beach Fishing Report, Hatteras Offshore Jigging Variety Fish

05/01/10 - Today we had a group of two aboard for a day of offshore fishing. We had Dr. Steve Schoonover and his son aboard and they wanted simply to catch a variety of fish. We headed straight to the rockpile and started right off catching on the jigs. We were working over the king mackerel pretty good with some blue runners, AJs, false albacores, bonitas, almaco jacks, and lesser amberjacks thrown into the mix. We went out a little deeper to do some deep dropping and caught a tile and a super small grouper. These guys were having a better time with the jigging, so we went back to do that some more. We caught more and then they said they wanted to catch a shark. So, we ended the day catching them a nice 8 foot sand tiger.
