Virginia Beach Fishing Report, July 9 offshore report yellowfins and mahis

On thursday we had john angelson aboard for a day offshore. We fished to the north near the canyon and surrounding areas and found a great mixed bag of yellowfins and plenty of mahi. Altogether we had 6 or 8 yellowfin bites catching several of them and missing several. we also had about 20 mahi bites, catching most of those. We saw a white marlin or two and were pestered throughout the day by skipjack tuna. All in all it was great fishing and a beautiful day offshore. We fished all the way from the canyon to inside of twenty fathoms and caught fish all along the way. Great number of fish out there and finally, I am very relieved to see some yellowfins being caught consistently out of Virginia Beach. The last couple of years the yellowfins have been scarce and this year we are catching some.
