Virginia Beach Fishing Report, Matador Great Cobia Fishing Hatteras

05/17/10 - Today we had Pino aboard. He always brings a group of experienced anglers with him and is always a great time to have on the boat. After the exceptional cobia fishing the day before this was to be our plan again. We had Capt. Ben and Matt along to make the slaughter of cobias a sure thing. We went right back to the same spot as the day before and found poor conditions for sight casting. It was cloudy, cool, and drizzly. Nonetheless there were just so many dang-on cobia there that it didn't matter. We probably saw 150 fish during the day. Spooked some, saw some that wouldn't bite, hooked some and pulled em off, broke a couple off, and caught a bunch. I think we ended the day catching 14 cobias with 3 citations. It was an excellent day of cobia fishing.
