Virginia Beach Fishing Report, Virginia Beach Inshore Shark Fishing

06/24 - Today we had the Johnson family from Columbus, Ohio aboard for a morning of fishing. They said they wanted to catch some sharks, so we went and found them some sharks. The water had finally settled out from a hard blow this weekend and boy were the sharks chewing. Within moments of starting the chum slick, we had blacktip reef sharks circling the boat. They readily took baits and we caught them until the Johnson family had their fill and cried for mercy. I guess all in all we caught approximately 60 sharks ranging in size from 3 to 5 feet long.
Now that the sharks are here, we will be doing shark fishing for any customers who wish to do so throughout the remainder of the summer. Shark fishing is a great way to spend a day of inshore fishing and kids especially love catching the hard fighting sharks and getting their pictures taken with sharks. We prefer to release most all sharks, however one large shark may be kept for eating.
