Virginia Beach Fishing Report, Virginia Beach Offshore Marlin Fishing

We have had several offshore trips over the last week or two and the fishing has been great. There have been plenty of mahi around but the best bite has been with billfish. Most days we are seeing a dozen or more shots at white marlin. This particular picture comes from Saturday. We started the morning out with a couple white marlins. Then we caught a sailfish. Then we bailed a bunch of mahi. Then we had several more whites we caught and several we missed. One of the whites we caught was this huge 90-100# white marlin. Whites typically range from 40 to 60# so imagine what kind of fight this fish put up on small tackle with 12# test. We also had a shot at a grand slam at the end of the day when we had a blue marlin chase down our baits but did not eat.
