01/02/09 - Fished with Ernie Eckenrode and friends today. Ernie has fished with me several times before and I always enjoy having Ernie on the boat. Ernie and his son little Ernie are always fun to have along and this time they brought along several hundred eels as a present to me. Thanks guys. The weather was miserable. It was southwest about 30 miles an hour, raining sideways, and thirty degrees. I guess they werent uncomfortable, but I was freezing. We fished for a little while and did a couple of drifts. The fishing wasnt red hot but we managed about 7 bites catching 4. The class of fish wasnt huge but they averaged about 35 pounds. Not small but not the size we have been seeing. Ernie left off with a nice cooler full of fish and I was glad to see the dock. After fishing, we all went to Big sams and had a nice HOT lunch.
Happy New Year!
