The charter fishing boat Underdog fishes from The Virginia Beach Fishing Center
On wednesday, Underdog was booked for an offshore fishing charter. We had a great weather forecast and have been experiencing great fishing and with a nice warm water eddy parked off the Virginia coast, we were anxious to get offshore. We left the Virginia Beach fishing center early and arrived on the scene and landed just in the right spot. We immediately found a large school of mahi mahi, and commenced to catching our limit very quickly. It was still early in the day, so we opted to go deep drop bottom fishing for tilefish and the tilefish were very cooperative, so we caught a quick easy, early limit of tilefish. At this point our fishbox was full but it was still early in the day, so we decided to make a drop for a daytime swordfish. We rigged up and dropped baits and within an hour had a hook up. The sword we caught was a keeper, but our box was already full so we released the swordfish and headed home.

A nice mess of spadefish caught on an inshore charter in Virginia Beach with matador charters
So far the 2017 charter fishing season in Virginia Beach has been great. On our inshore charters over the last couple of days we have seen excellent charter fishing for sea bass, we have caught both red drum and cobia while sight fishing off the Virginia Beach oceanfront, and today we caught a really nice mess of spadefish. It is very early in the season, but there is already great fishing in Virginia Beach and it is only getting better by the day. We look forward to a great charter fishing season in Virginia Beach out of the Virginia Beach fishing center at rudee inlet and we hope to see you out fishing with us on an inshore or offshore fishing charter. Give captain Jake a call today to book your charter fishing reservation at 7577496008. Thanks!
