Virginia Beach Cobia Fishing Getting Better By The Day

Today we had a couple guys going fishing with their family for a reunion. The fishing has been getting cosistently better on a daily basis. It has been a cold spring and the fishing has been slow getting started. We have had some great days of inshore fishing, but we have been having to work very hard to get them. Now it is getting easier to make a catch each day and there is more of a variety of fish to catch available inshore each day for our charters. Today we started off fishing off the beach and tried the troll early. The water was chilly and the troll wasnt happening so we went in the inlet and burned some time catching a bunch of spot, croaker, some puppy drum and flounder in the inlet. The sun popped out for a while and we decided to go back outside and take a look. We found better fishing on the troll with a steady bite of taylor blues. We were cruising along and catching a few blues and I was keeping my eyes peeled and I saw a cobia cruising. Got a good throw at him and caught our second cobia of the season. Saw 1, caught 1. Good ratio. We trolled around for a while and a line of storms came through and we went in. Another day where we scratched out a nice catch.
