Big rockfish again

Today we had a group from chicago aboard to go catch stripers. These guys are seasoned veterans to catching rockfish in freshwater in tennessee and wanted to give saltwater fishing for stripers a shot. They told me that their previous best striped bass was a 28# fish and we set off trying to catch a bigger fish than that. We ran up into the bay and set up on the troll and immediately started getting bites. Our first couple bites were short strikes but then we started hanging onto a few. Our first fish of the day was a solid 30#er and needless to say these guys all caught their biggest rockfish to date. We caught about ten altogether and they kept a limit and released several as well. All fish were in the upper 20# class to around 40#. A real nice class of fish for sure and we were glad to have them.
