BIG WAHOOS LOTS OF MAHI MARLIN GREAT OFFSHORE

Thursday we had an offshore trip and we were headed to the north towards the canyon for the first time in a long time. For the last while we have been fishing towards the south where the marlins had been and on thursday we were going to shift gears a bit and try to catch a wahoo. We started out by the canyon and within 5 minutes of the first line out we caught a really nice 25# dolphin. A few minutes later we had a wahoo bite off. Then another wahoo bite that we caught. And so was the story the rest of the day. It seemed like everywhere we went there were plenty of fish. In the canyon and the area around the canyon, I think we had a total of 8 or 9 wahoo bites. some bit our mono rigs and we ended up catching a total of 3 of them. They were all nice sized wahoos too. On the north wall of the canyon we also found a small weedline that was loaded with dolphins. for a good while we could only fish one bait at a time they were hitting us so fast. Near the tip of the canyon we had a white marlin come crashing in on one of our wahoo baits and swallowed the bait pretty deep. The marlin was going to die so we brought it home to eat it. We dont usually bring marlins home but this one was going to die anyways so no point in letting it go to waste. Water temp most of the day was 73.2 to 74 degrees and the water was clean green.
