Bluefin intel no bluefins just more stripers

Today we had a group for a full day trip. We originally were going after stripers, but today they just werent biting. We looked at cape henry. We went all the way up to cape charles. Nothing. Theres a full moon right now and it was just one of those days. We trolled around for hours and had no bites. In the afternoon, I decided to go a little further out and do some checking around on the conditions to see if they were right for bluefin tunas. Last year we had a phenominal bite on the bluefins and everyone is hoping for a repeat this year. I went out and looked and found all the conditions that would typically hold the bluefins, but I did not have any bluefin bites. I only fished for a short time, but in that short time I found huge places of bait, whales, birds, and nice clear water. There should be some bluefins around, but we wouldnt be able to find out. Even though we had to release them all the stripers would not leave us alone. We fished for about 20 minutes ande had about 20 striper bites. Every rod went down as soon as they got in the water. Too many stripers so we left. ALL STRIPERS WERE RELEASED UNHARMED.
