Half day report VIRGINIA BEACH COBIA

Today was our first half day trip of the season since we got back to rudee inlet in virginia beach. We started off trolling for bluefish and the rain water from tropical storm beryl that just rolled through yesterday had the water all cloudy. The trolling wasnt very good. Still very exciting though because there was practicing for this weekends airshow off virginia beach going on. The blue angels and a bunch of other planes were doing all sorts of aerobatics all around us. But we werent on a airplane watching trip we were on a fishing trip, so off to the bridge we went. We got there and started catching a handful of bluefish. We immediately saw this nice sized cobia and pitched a bucktail to it. After about ten minutes we had it in the box for our first cobia of the VA season. We trolled around for a while longer and didnt have much to show for it. We did catch a big houndfish on the troll and a spanish mackerel. Not incredibly fast fishing but a good start to the season nonetheless. Conditions should improve over the next couple of days as the waters clear and continue to warm. We have plenty of availability in the coming days for inshore trips and half days. Give me a call at 7577496008 and we will get you booked. Thanks, Jake
