Irene update WE ARE READY TO FISH

This weekend, the entire mid-atlantic and northeast area was hit by Hurricane Irene. We were all very lucky that the storm weakened significantly in the hours before it made landfall on the North Carolina coast. This weakening saved all of us from seeing much more damage than what we saw. Damage here was at a minumum. We did have a storm and we recieved some high winds, high tides, and several inches of rain. We are very fortunate and happy to say though that we prepared the boat properly and recieved no damage from this storm. For those of you travelling into town, most of the hotels and beach houses were also spared by the storm. Most never even lost power during the storm. Please call your hotel or realty before travelling to ensure that there is no damage, but most here was undamaged. Either way, the storm is over, the weather looks gorgeous for the upcoming week and hopefully the fishing will pick up right where it left off. Before the storm we were catching cobias and bluefish inshore with some spanish mackerel and some sharks. Offshore, the marlin bite was just getting into full swing. Hopefully the good fishing we were seeing will continue.
