Lots of meat on Thursday, blackfins and mahi

On thursday we had Robby Kitt, Danny Davis, and friends down from Virginia Beach for the day. Plan was to catch as much meat as possible. I told them when we left, we will catch as much as you want to crank. I didnt lie. We started off at the rocks, jigging. We were catching a lot there. Every drop you could get a bite. It was a good mixture of blackfins, with a lot of false albacores, some amberjacks, and blue runners mixed in. We did this until noon. The weather was gorgeous and there wasnt a breath of wind all morning. Bright sunny beautiful day and lots of bites. The guys got tired of jigging. I dont think their arms could handle anymore and Dan on the Tuna Duck had reported to us a weedline nearby so we went off to give it a sniff. As soon as we got there we found a beautiful weedline. The water was gulf blue, 75 degrees on one side and 73 on the other. There was trash all in it, pilings, little bait fish, and most importantly there were plenty of mahi. We fished it for about and hour and a half and caught 17 mahi up to 31#. Great great day of fishing and a nice ride home in calm seas. The guys were actually worried that they didnt have enough cooler space for all their fillets.
