mixed bag offshore virginia beach blue marlin

On sunday we had a group from Lynchburg aboard for the day. The weather forecast was iffy but we looked at the weather and saw a window and decided to go. We fished all day in front of the norfolk canyon in 30 fathoms and while it was rough and rainy, we still had bites pretty much all day. We started right off the bat catching a mahi. 5 minutes later we missed a white marlin that snuck in and managed to get a free snack. Then we caught another mahi and missed another white marlin. Then we had a flatline bite and came tight on a blue marlin on a tld 25. We fought this fish for a good while and let it swim away after a couple pictures. Trolled around for a little while without a bite and then we had two tunas hit us and we hooked on on the longrigger tld 25. Caught a nice yellowfin and went home shortly after. Not a huge catch but steady bites all day and we had meat and billfish.
