More sightcasting for cobias off virginia beach

Over the last couple of days the conditions have really gotten right for catching cobias. It has been calm and sunny. There has been an abundance of menhaden and there are schools of stingrays everywhere out in front of the virginia beach oceanfront. This translates to good cobia fishing. This particular trip started off kind of slow. We trolled around and looked at some buoys, but no one was home. About 1030 in the morning, the conditions got right. The tide was pushing the bait and rays out of the bay and there were large packs of large cobias popping up everywhere. We saw a lot of cobias and hooked several. We saw sharks everywhere too, but we just stuck with the plan of catching cobias and it paid off. We decided to kill this nice 50 pound class fish for dinner and played with some others. This was really great fishing and hopefully it will continue.
