New to me boat for inshore charters...

For the last couple of weeks I have been looking for a boat to use for inshore trips with small groups. I get a lot of calls from people with 2-4 anglers who are looking for an inshore trip and cant afford to pay for the whole charter expense of "Matador". Running a 45' boat is expensive especially with fuel costs being near $5 per gallon. Also with Matador being in Hatteras a large portion of the year, I miss a lot of trips I could run in Virginia Beach at the same time. Both my Hatteras site and my Virginia Beach site generate calls year round. The economy is tough right now and I figured I would do what I needed to accomodate to my customers and get more people on the water, and like any reasonable and sane person would do.... I bought ANOTHER boat. Anyways here she is.... She is a 1968 26' Pacemaker wahoo center console. She had a full professionally done modernization in 2011. The old gelcoat was stripped down and any fiberglass issues were resolved. Then she was reglassed and gelcoated. New fighting lady yellow awlgrip with a green bootstripe and green bottom paint. The inside has new stringers for the new 351 windsor and new velvet drive. The motor has been moved under the console for better weight distribution and the console hinges to access the motor. The motor is monitored by a new digital guage panel with rpm speedo flo scan etc. She has brand new twin 100 gallon saddle tanks. It has teak decks and a cooler seat with a brand new yeti. It has this huge beautiful tower and lee single spreader riggers. Performance wise, she is very efficient on fuel. She can troll all day on 5 gallons of fuel. Cruising she will do 18 kts at 4.5 gph, which is 4 mpg. Or I can stretch her legs a little and make 26 kts at 11 gph. This boat has a ton of history and operated as a private and charter boat along the treasure coast of Florida for a good many years under the name "Chaser". The capt. I bought her from kept her in a dry slip in Canaveral. I am yet to come up with a name for her. I bought this boat from a charter captain in Florida who is leaving the business and got an exceptional deal. I bring her home next week and will have her ready to fish virginia beach june 1. My rates for this boat will be exactly the same as comparable boats operating from lynnhaven. This boat will operate from rudee inlet. During the summer months and striper season both of my boats will be operating from virginia beach and in the off seasons the big boat will be in Hatteras and the little boat will be chasing something around somewhere. No doubt about it though, this thing will be a fish killing machine. Im very excited about getting her here and on the water. As usual, check my sites at or or call me at 757-749-6008 for info. Thanks, Jake
