Fishing Reports > Offshore fishing still great marlins mahi wahoo

We have fished offshore a couple times in the past week and have found excellent fishing is still here. There are still plenty of marlins available to the south and the last couple trips there have been mahi around everything that floats. There have also been some tunas and wahoos as well but most of the offshore attention right now is focused on the marlin bite which has been one of the best seasons ever seen in the mid atlantic region. Most days we are seeing double digit numbers of a mix of blue marlin, white marlin, and sailfish. There have even been a handful of spearfish around. The marlin season is probably now past its peak and the action will begin tapering down as the water cools. The waters cooling though will soon bring us tunas. In october we expect to see some small numbers of marlins hanging around and there should be appearance by the yellowfin tunas in the near future. Mahi fishing and wahoo fishing should continue to be decent for the next couple weeks.
