Im sorry if Im not getting everyones report from every day up here. We have been running a ton of trips lately and I am just trying to recap and highlight what is going on with the fishing here in virginia beach with my reports. I try to update my website several times a week but being busy sometimes keeps this from happening and I dont get a report up every day. Today we had an offshore trip. The forecast was for breezy southwest which I feel like has been the same forecast for a month now. This forecast makes it very hard to fish because it causes everything to change on a daily basis. On a southwest forecast you cant ever expect to leave fish one day and come back to them the next because the currents push the fish around so much. But despite the weather, we left with a plan to go south and had several different options. We started at the tower and caught a quick limit of amberjacks. Then we trolled where we picked at the mahi and caught a nice yellowfin on the troll in the area around the jack tower. We also caught a random bonita and a 30 pound barracuda on the troll. Late in the day, we stopped on a wreck and caught a bunch of sea bass. We had choppy seas but a nice catch for the day.
