Fishing Reports > underdog offshore fishing charter report 10417

On wednesday, Underdog was booked for an offshore fishing charter. We had a great weather forecast and have been experiencing great fishing and with a nice warm water eddy parked off the Virginia coast, we were anxious to get offshore. We left the Virginia Beach fishing center early and arrived on the scene and landed just in the right spot. We immediately found a large school of mahi mahi, and commenced to catching our limit very quickly. It was still early in the day, so we opted to go deep drop bottom fishing for tilefish and the tilefish were very cooperative, so we caught a quick easy, early limit of tilefish. At this point our fishbox was full but it was still early in the day, so we decided to make a drop for a daytime swordfish. We rigged up and dropped baits and within an hour had a hook up. The sword we caught was a keeper, but our box was already full so we released the swordfish and headed home. It was a really good day offshore with easy fishing, and it was like everything we did worked out great.

Soon we leave to head to Oregon Inlet for the fall tuna bite. There have been some good catches of tuna already from the south and we look forward to a month of fishing in Oregon Inlet north carolina. We still have plenty of dates available so give us a call and get your charter fishing trip booked. Thanks, Jake
